Official FAQs: road and parking access is free to all users. ~8 km access from Lilybank Road turnoff to base lodge; carry chains (not sold/hired on mountain—buy in Tekapo). Final ~5 km from DOC carpark up only open to vehicles 8:00am–5:00pm while the ski area is open (gate locked otherwise). No reservation system.
