The on-mountain car park is reached via a 9.6 km unsealed access road from Lake Ōhau Lodge (about 15–20 minutes), with a short walk to the ticket office and Day Lodge. Chains must be carried at all times (there's a fitting area at the bottom of the access road; hire is available through the Lodge if needed). A daily bus leaves the Lodge at 9:15am and returns at the end of the day (tickets at reception).
